This is our ministry to the body called Ushers. Enjoy!
What's an Usher?
A Servant
A Servant of the Pastors, church staff, and the congregation. He meets their needs so "church" can be worshipful and without distractions.
A Watchman
He watches over the congregation in order to anticipate any needs and prevent disruptions. He must remember that church services are often spiritual life and death situations for some who are in attendance. Distractions could keep them from receiving what God has for them. "Everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way"
(1 Corinthians 14:40).
A Host
Church services are like inviting 1,000's of people into your home. A good host cares for his guests and assures that everything is in order for them when they arrive, meets their needs while they are in his home, and cleans up when they leave. He also assists families in getting their children in Sunday School.Usher's Job
An Usher performs the work of a Deacon and must meet the Scriptural qualifications of a Deacon (1 Timothy 3:1-13). Ushers report to the Head Ushers and perform their duties in accordance with instructions from Head Ushers. It is absolutely necessary that Ushers be above reproach.
