Praise and Worship God

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. ~ Psalm 16:11 (KJV)

As we yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit each day, He will direct us to praise, thank, and worship God. No matter what situations occur in your life, He will direct you to praise, thank, and worship God.  We are not to follow him from our head thinking it is His plan, neither are we to decide whether or not we choose to praise, thank, and worship God based upon what our flesh feels like. We are to follow the Holy Ghost's leading daily from our spirit. Train your spirit to hear his voice and practice the presence of God. Be Spirit conscious.

Psalm 63 (NIV)

A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.
 1 O God, you are my God,
       earnestly I seek you;
       my soul thirsts for you,
       my body longs for you,
       in a dry and weary land
       where there is no water.

 2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
       and beheld your power and your glory.

 3 Because your love is better than life,
       my lips will glorify you.

 4 I will praise you as long as I live,
       and in your name I will lift up my hands.

 5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
       with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

 6 On my bed I remember you;
       I think of you through the watches of the night.

 7 Because you are my help,
       I sing in the shadow of your wings.

 8 My soul clings to you;
       your right hand upholds me.

 9 They who seek my life will be destroyed;
       they will go down to the depths of the earth.

 10 They will be given over to the sword
       and become food for jackals.

 11 But the king will rejoice in God;
       all who swear by God's name will praise him,
       while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

It can be so easy to praise God when everything is going right. But what happens when the devil creates havoc in your life? Is your praise and thankfulness the same? If you are honest with yourself, you will not feel like praising God when tests and trials come. But praising God does not mean you are singing loudly. Praising God is getting over into His presence and thanking Him for what He has done for you. And when things may not be going well, it can be a press to get over into the Word of God and His presence.

Psalm 5 (Amplified Bible)

To the Chief Musician; on wind instruments. A Psalm of David.
 1LISTEN TO my words, O Lord, give heed to my sighing and groaning.

    2Hear the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to You do I pray.

    3In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare [a prayer, a sacrifice] for You and watch and wait [for You to speak to my heart].

    4For You are not a God Who takes pleasure in wickedness; neither will the evil [man] so much as dwell [temporarily] with You.

    5Boasters can have no standing in Your sight; You abhor all evildoers.

    6You will destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors [and rejects] the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

    7But as for me, I will enter Your house through the abundance of Your steadfast love and mercy; I will worship toward and at Your holy temple in reverent fear and awe of You.

    8Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make Your way level (straight and right) before my face.

    9For there is nothing trustworthy or steadfast or truthful in their talk; their heart is destruction [or a destructive chasm, a yawning gulf]; their throat is an open sepulcher; they flatter and make smooth with their tongue.

    10Hold them guilty, O God; let them fall by their own designs and counsels; cast them out because of the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against You.

    11But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits.

    12For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).

Read the book of Psalms and you will see that no matter what was happening in David's life, he got himself over into the presence of the Lord and worshiped Him. He stirred himself up and got over into praise and worship because in the presence of the Lord, everything is different.

Psalm 100 (Amplified Bible)

A Psalm of thanksgiving and for the thank offering.
 1MAKE A joyful noise to the Lord, all you lands!

    2Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing!

    3Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

    4Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!

    5For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.

NEVER give the enemy of your soul the glory in any of his ways. Praise God and give Him glory for He is the only One who deserves it. You and I are carriers of His presence! You don't have to be in a special place at a special time in order to access being with Him. We are carries of His visible presence in this earth and He wants to shine forth through you and me.

Psalm 105 (King James Version)

 1O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

 2Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

 3Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

 4Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

 5Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

 6O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

 7He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

 8He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

 9Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

 10And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

 11Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

 12When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

 13When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;

 14He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

 15Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

 16Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.

 17He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:

 18Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:

 19Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.

 20The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.

 21He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:

 22To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.

 23Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

 24And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

 25He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.

 26He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.

 27They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.

 28He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.

 29He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.

 30Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.

 31He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.

 32He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.

 33He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.

 34He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,

 35And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.

 36He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.

 37He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

 38Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

 39He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.

 40The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

 41He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

 42For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

 43And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

 44And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

 45That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
