Welcome to The Pastors Corner

This is our ministry called Pastors Corner. Enjoy!
Pastors corner is an extension of our ministry were we endeavour to give timely teaching on various subjects. The subject that I would like to address to day is the subject of helps ministry. The bible gives us our main scripture on this subject in 1 corinthians
12:28 |
And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues |
The word help here is defined as: to aid, help As Pastors we know we cannot carry out the call of God without those who help or aid us in this. In luke we see a picture of this in the life of Jesus.
Lu 8:2 |
and certain women whom He had delivered from evil spirits and various diseases--Mary of Magdala, out of whom seven demons had come, |
Lu 8:3 |
and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many other women, all of whom contributed to the support of Jesus and His Apostles. |
Here we see them helping by ministering to him of their substance they gave and supported the ministry.
In the book of Acts 6 we see seven men chosen to minister to the widows to allow the Apostles to give of their time to prayer they were serving in helps ministry.
Ac 6:1 |
About this time, as the number of disciples was increasing, complaints were made by the Greek-speaking Jews against the Hebrews because their widows were habitually overlooked in the daily ministration. |
Ac 6:2 |
So the Twelve called together the general body of the disciples and said, "It does not seem fitting that we Apostles should neglect the delivery of God's Message and minister at tables. |
Ac 6:3 |
Therefore, brethren, pick out from among yourselves seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, and we will appoint them to undertake this duty. |
Ac 6:4 |
But, as for us, we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the delivery of the Message." |
Ac 6:5 |
The suggestion met with general approval, and they selected Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte of Antioch. |
Ac 6:6 |
These men they brought to the Apostles, and, after prayer, they laid their hands upon them. |
Ac 6:7 |
Meanwhile God's Message continued to spread, and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem very greatly increased, and very many priests obeyed the faith. |
Jesus needed them the Apostles needed them and the Church needs this ministry today. May God bless you if you are involved and if you are not let me encourage you to get involved it will bless you and the Church.
